Give a brief introduction about GrabOn!
GrabOn is a coupon and deals startup company based out of Hyderabad, India. The company currently in its 6th year of existence has maintained the industry leaders spot for the past 3 years. Started by Ashok Kumar Reddy, alum of ISB Hyderabad, GrabOn was aimed at helping the average Indian save more while shopping online.

GrabOn is closely associated with 3000+ merchants and has partnered with the likes of Uber, Ola, Swiggy, Paytm, Freecharge and Mobikwik to provide the best promo codes and the hottest deals to its 6.5+ million monthly users.
Which insight made you to start the Entrepreneur Adventure?
During Ashok’s stint abroad with MNCs, he noticed the trend of multibillion-dollar coupons and deals companies and realized the potential his home country offered in that aspect. Ashok came back and set on the journey of becoming India’s biggest coupons and deals company.
The coupons and deals space, still in its early stages, offered coupon discovery platforms instead of a full-fledged user-experience.
What was the biggest step you have taken in the process?
Team GrabOn, led by Ashok Reddy capitalized on this opportunity. While most of the existing coupon websites would roll with a cookie cutter version of a website, GrabOn dared to go with a platform that emphasized more on user experience and less on coupon listing. We offered a seamless and smooth coupon browsing experience for the user in the form of a clean, user-friendly and engaging interface. Within months of launch, more and more visitors started using GrabOn to redeem coupons and activate deals.
Shortly afterwards, GrabOn introduced the industry first buzz notifications feature which alerts users with the latest and best coupons, offers and deals. The rich tech stack, reflected in the coupon finder & cab finder features on the GrabOn app, combined with innovative thinking have made GrabOn a fan favorite. The coupon/cab finder functionality helps you find just the right coupons and book affordable rides from your smartphone without switching between apps.
What are the obstacles you faced during the situation?
Another obstacle that GrabOn had to face during the entire course of operation was functioning as bootstrapped startup. The coupons startup relied on ingenuous growth hacks and strategic alliances rather than raising funds. This obstacle only served to make GrabOn resilient and frugal which bore fruits when it came to marketing, partnership and organizational development.
Throughout the years, GrabOn has cracked top notch strategic alliances with big names like NPCI, PhonePe, PayPal, Truecaller, Xiaomi and others in the banking, aviation, finance and entertainment sector.
Another avenue contributing to the organizational growth is affiliate marketing, or performance marketing to be very precise. All of this combined with the traffic footfall and careful curation of coupons & offers, have helped GrabOn achieve this feat.
What’s your Mission?
GrabOn’s mission is epitomized by its brand slogan of ‘Save On Everything’. Every endeavour, product or service launch at GrabOn has this common denominator. Here, the consumer feedback and insights are at the core of decision making. To further this idea of helping the user save on everything, GrabOn had launched their gift cards portal which aims to solve the gifting issues faced by an average Indian ahead of festivals and personal occasions. GrabOn aims to help every Indian save more on every single purchase they do online, be it shopping, order food, booking tickets, hailing cab, or paying bills.
